It’s been a full 2 years since the last time I was active on and with Affiliate Lounge. After some years of experience in a number of things, combined with some constant thoughts regarding the internet I decided to get back on the bus and give it another go. I just recently launched a number of websites that I will announce here, that all mainly focus on the same subject, Affiliate Marketing.

Decided to use a theme I found on ThemeForest, this is the new theme of this blog. I’m also planning to be much more active in posting, so feel free to subscribe via RSS or email to stay updated. Until the next post, see ya.

Google pagerank update – March 2008

Well it looks like it’s that time again. Just noticed now that 3 of my websites went from pagerank 0 to PR 2 and my backlinks updated. I also see that my position for this blog for the term “affiliate marketing” on Google South Africa has also rose from #46 to #11 which is real good news.

I found a real nice tool to help you increase your pagerank, backlinks etc. The software is free but there is a better version for sale if you want to take the cash out for it. You can download the free version here.

What a year this is going to be! – 2008

I am so excited about this year. Finally I am doing what I love. No more clients (for now), no more long hours at the office… As some of you might know I had a company for 4 years here locally and well… I just got fed-up!

New websites in 2008

I am an affiliate marketing junkie. That’s where the money’s at, so that’s where I am focusing on. Building websites around a niche or a product with a good affiliate merchant. I am still in a struggle about launching websites local(.co.za), international(.com) or both?

Projects I’m busy with at the moment and in this year is:

Lifechanger.co.za

It’s a project I am working on with some of my Canadian friends and it holds great opportunity of revenue for me, them and anyone else joining the system. Unfortunately it’s South African only for now…

Gaming Websites (including egames.co.za)

I am moving slowly but surely into the online gaming sector, because the market is huge. People play online games every day, at work, home or just when they are bored… I will also be launching more interactive game websites all over the net and not just locally. I am still testing different affiliate programs on these websites but I personally think that ring tones might do the job. I’ll let you in on the best way to monetize these types of websites as soon as I know.

This is like my baby, my joy, my pride. Launching early this year it will be the main and leading Affiliate Programs review website. I’m not doing the XHTML/CSS myself, rather decided to get the pros to do it for me.

The great thing about the website will be that there will be tons of great functionalities like:

Search by Niche / product / service your website delivers
Search by Country, so that you can get international and local campaigns to run
User reviews of merchants and networks

There will also be other areas like:

Forums
Free guides for beginners to experts on affiliate marketing
Monthly Newsletter with all the new merchants added

So I look forward to launching some great resourceful websites this year, so keep tuned in to hear all about it.

UPDATE: Oh yes, I am also planning to release a couple of nice Wordpress Themes this year!

1stly I want to thank all of you whom entered my quick giveaway this week. It was a great success, had a lot of reviews, now just waiting for updates from Technorati. Unfortunately Entrecard only allows me to send credits 10 times a day so I am still getting to sending all of the credits.

As most of you know this blog is only 2 months old and I had certain goals in mind which were reached way over with some added bonuses. Honestly I didn’t really expect to have this type of growth so soon, but I ain’t complaining… Here is a couple of updates:

Alexa Rank

My traffic rank with Alexa is now in the 40K and had a big spike since the beginning of January:

Feed Readers

My subscribers have also been building up very nicely this past month. It went slow in the beginning but I am having a good +20 leap these last days now which helps wonders:

Visits & Pageviews

My visits and pageviews you can say exploded. I now have about 400 visits and 1200 pageviews on average a day. According to my stats at here it was:

+/- 3000 unique visitors and 5500 page views.

And now it is:

+/- 12 000 unique visitors and 36 000 page views.

Oh yeah, I am also ranked in postion #1 on Entrecard (for now). Entrecard is a great system but has more cons than pros in my own personal opinion.

Currently I am busy working on a few projects that will be exposed to you soon but I have some great plans for AffiliateLounge that will happen in the next few months which I look forward to.

My blog has grown immensely this past month and my personal goal is to reach the Technorati top 60K in a very short time. So I have decided to get a boost in the right direction.

As of now I am GIVING AWAY (no catch) 500 Entrecard Credits to EVERY Blogger that blogs about Affiliate Lounge. I have a limit but it may increase later. The limit is 40 submissions. So 40 bloggers will each receive 500 EC!

Yes, this is sooo feeling better. This is more me, not the dark part though…

I got my hands on Adii’s Premium News Theme and had a friend help me create this beautiful new theme for Affiliate Lounge. I am truly in love with it and I hope you guys like it?

So let me know what you think and of the new features etc. Video on homepage is coming soon with a couple of other small mods.

Well Lushable.com still hasn’t given any real proof. I think he is in a very very tight position and doesn’t really know what to do. Chris from imod.co.za is giving him a very hard time at his post iMod.co.za takes down lushable.com! and man it’s getting intense.

So while we are waiting for Jason to decide to give us some proof or anything else I am running a competition.

After a long holiday for us all, Entrecard finally decided to select the winners for the seller status. Well I guess it must have been a hard decision or they expected more entries cause they chose all the entries as winners.

Well I’m glad and congratulations to all who entered. Just a bit sad, cause I got some nice ideas for the Shop but we will see if I can bring it in later.
